Yesterday, after Salsa class... (yeah, I'm keeping up with it... It gets a little easier every time!) I was supposed to go and have tacos with a friend, but he got sick, so we didn't go. So instead, I found this place near school called el casa del pan. It is an ORGANIC VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT! I was so very happy to find this little place... they have fresh juices, organic coffee and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. My waitress was a 13 year old girl. I ordered una hamborguesa vegetariano con champiñònes y aguacate (veggie burger with mushrooms and avocado) and jugo de piña, manzana y apio (pineapple-apple-celery juice). Now, I know I didn't cross the border to hang out in places that I can got to everyday back in Boulder, but after almost 3 weeks of eating chicken, pigs and fish, it felt SO GOOD to order a veggie burger. And, I still had to speak Spanish to do it, so it's not that bad! I just have not found anything here advertising organic ingredients, so I was excited when I found this place. They had literature on all the tables about the importance of supporting organic farming and what positive effects vegetarianism has on our environment. Rock on El Casa Del Pan!
Everyone keeps asking me about pictures... I'm taking them, don't you worry. I forgot the cord to the camera back in Ohio, so Mom put it in the mail for me. As soon as I get it I will post some pictures (If I can figure out how to do it...)
Also, I have heard from a few people that it is difficult to post comments on this blog site... I'm not sure what to tell you about that... I don't even know how to do it myself... but I do want to hear from everyone, so if you can't comment, please send me emails... I want to hear how everything is going back home. My email address is:
